Thanksgiving 2024
We’ll be back again this year at the West Los Angeles Civic Center on Thanksgiving Day – November 28. And there are many ways you can help us prepare, starting right now! From collecting food items or doing a clothing drive, to spreading the word to guests or supporters. We are completely volunteer-driven, and ALL are welcomed to be a part of this grand celebration!
How to Help
Cook a Turkey
It’s not Thanksgiving without turkey! And there are no turkeys if volunteers don’t cook and bring them.
Donate Goods
We need food items for the meal and for the Mercado (store). All of the items we provide come from you!
Donate Money
There is a lot that goes into making this event happen, and even a small donation can help provide a hot meal!
Volunteer
We need plenty of help on Thanskgiving Day or the Wednesday before. Register for a slot today!
Our Community Thanksgiving Celebration
For over four decades, we’ve put on a free Thanksgiving Day community celebration! We provide a wonderful sit-down Thanksgiving dinner, a huge selection of clothing to choose from, a “Mercado” (store) where you can shop for perishable and non-perishable items, live music, companionship, and more – ALL FOR FREE!
Thousands of people join us each year to give thanks, celebrate, and share our blessings with one and all.
You’re Invited!
- The Celebration is open to all. No reservations are necessary. Dinner is served from 11am-2pm, while the clothing area opens up earlier at 9am.
- It’s held at the West Los Angeles Civic Center – 1645 Corinth Ave, L.A., CA 90025 [view map »]
The guest entrance is on Santa Monica Blvd between Corinth and Butler Ave (2 blocks west of Sawtelle), next to the public library. - We bring together an inter-faith collection of groups and individuals in a wonderful celebration of Thanksgiving.
- We welcome everyone to join us as our guests: students, singles, low-income families, seniors, those without a home, and anyone else.
- Download a flyer with details to hand out to anyone who may desire to join us. We would love any assistance in helping spread the word!
What we’ve learned in 40+ years:
Be flexible. Need doesn’t go away on its own. There is always a way to help. God always provides.
